G. Harold “Bub” Bowersock, 96, of rural Spencerville, died at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2008, in the Roselawn Manor Nursing Home in Spencerville, where he had been a resident for one year. He was born Sept. 22, 1911, in Salem Township, Auglaize County, a son of Grover and Viola McMillen Bowersock and they preceded him in death.
On Oct. 5, 1932, he married Rea M. Shank and she survives.
He is also survived by four children, William “Bill” (Teresa) Bowersock and James “Jim” (Nancy) Bowersock, both of rural Spencerville; Carol Trice of Van Wert and Janet (Ken) Keiber of Fort Amanda; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter; two brothers; and two sisters.
He was also preceded in death by two daughters, 4-year-old Betty Lou and infant Helen Louise Bowersock; three brothers; and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, with the Rev. Raymond S. Daniel Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencerville Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Spencerville Ambulance Service.
