William T. “Bill” Foster, 89, of Spencerville, died at 11:42 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2008, in the Roselawn Manor Nursing Home in Spencerville, where he had resided for a short time.
He was born July 19, 1918, in Spencerville a son of Wilbur Jacob and Bessie Alice Strohl Foster and they preceded him in death. On Dec. 25, 1949, he married Dorothy E. Patrick and she preceded him in death July 20, 1997. He is survived by two sons, Todd W. (Carole) Foster of Savannah, Ga., and Ted L. (Michele) Foster of Spencerville; five grandchildren; and a sister. He was also preceded in death by a brother. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, with the Rev. Stephanie Haines officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencerville Cemetery, where graveside military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 191 and Bowersock Brothers VFW Post 6772 of Spencerville. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, and after 9 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the memorial fund at the Spencerville Untied Church of Christ. |
