The boys and girls track and field teams from New Bremen and Minster all find themselves in the top five of the team standings after day one of the Division III track meet at Minster, with the New Bremen boys atop the standings headed into Saturday afternoon’s finals.

The Cardinal boys have 24 points, edging out Marion Local’s 22 points. Minster boys are fourth with 20.5 points. New Knoxville is 11th with two points.
The Minster girls are in second place behind Marion Local by three points. The Flyers lead with 32 points and the Wildcats have 29 points.
The New Bremen girls are sitting in fifth place with 16.5 points. New Knoxville is eighth with eight points in the girls standings.
The Minster girls 4x800 team picked up a win with a 9:54.86 time.
The Minster boys 4x800 team won handily, with an 8:15.01 time.
Jay Schwartz of New Bremen won the pole vault with a run at 14 feet. Minster’s Marc Prenger took sixth with a vault of 11 feet six inches.

Natasha Fullenkamp of New Knoxville finished second in the girls discus throw with a toss of 113-3 to pick up eight points for the Rangers.
Becca Steinemann of Minster was fourth in the girls discus with a throw of 111-2, to pick up five points for the Wildcats.
Jaclyn Dabbelt of New Bremen was fifth in the discus with a throw of 110-9, collecting four points for the Cardinals.
Minster Emily Barhorst took third in the girls high jump with a jump of five feet. New Bremen’s LeAnn Topp took fifth with a jump of 4 feet 10 inches.
Taylor Jones of New Bremen took second in the girls long jump with a jump of 16-3 to earn eight points.
Bryce Bergman of New Bremen took third in the boys long jump with a jump of 20-10 to earn six points.
Jacob Kaiser of Minster finished sixth in the long jump with a jump of 19-9.25. Jon Hamilton of New Bremen was seventh with a jump of 19-2.5.
Becca Steinemann of Minster took second in the shot put with a put of 37 feet, 11.5 inches.
Minster’s Jacob Phlipot took fourth in the boys shot put with a put of 47 feet 9.25 inches.
New Knoxville’s Austin Luck finished seventh with a put of 43 feet 10.25 inches.
Qualifying for Saturday’s running events included Minster’s Stacey Sherman and New Knoxville’s Taylor Arnett in the girls 100 meter hurdles.
 New Bremen’s Bryce Bergman and Brennon Speckman and Minster’s Tyler Whitford and Albert Barga qualified in the boys 110 meter hurdles.
 Katie Wirwille of New Knoxville ran the top time and qualifed along with Taylor Jones of New Bremen and Minster’s Maria Dahlinghaus in the girls 400 meter dash.
New Bremen’s Jeff Kremer and New Knoxville’s Ethan Boyle moved on in the boys 400 meter dash.
Minster’s Stacey Sherman and New Knoxville’s Taylor Arnett will move on in the girls 300 meter hurdles along with Minster’s Claire Winner.
Bergman of New Bremen along with teammate Zach Speckman and Jordan Boeke in the boys 300 hurdles moved on.
Five area girls moved on in the 800 meter run. Minster’s Jessica Albers and Katie Dahlinghaus, New Bremen’s Caitlin Chaney and New Knoxville’s Amanda Scherer and Katie Phillips all moved on.
Alyssa Kemper and Ceclilia Slonkosky of Minster and Katie Wirwille of New Knoxville moved on in the girls 200 meter dash.
Minster moved along Albert Barga and Tyler Whitford in the boys 200 meter dash, along with Brennon Speckman and Dillon Otting of New Bremen and Kameron Smith of New Knoxville.
Four boys runners moved on in the 800 meter run, including Minster’s Jacob Dircksen and David McGowen and New Bremen’s Kyle Knapke and Justin Eilerman.
Moving on in the relays included: the Minster girls 4x200 relay team, the Minster and New Bremen boys 4x200 meter relay teams, the Minster and New Bremen girls 4x100 meter relay teams, the Minster and New Bremen boys 4x100 meter relay teams, the Minster, New Bremen and New Knoxville girls 4x400 teams, the New Bremen and Minster boys 4x400 teams.
