From Staff Reports St. Marys’ senior centerfielder Tyler Norton was voted to the first team of the 2008 Northwest Ohio Division II All-District team.
Norton was voted a second-team Western Buckeye League selection. St. Marys’ Sam Rammel was named honorable mention All-WBL. Defiance’s Adam Wagner was voted Player of the Year on both the district and league levels. All-WBL first teamers included: Wagner (Defiance), Dace Kime (Defiance), Matt Hampshire (Elida), Jon Bonvillian (Celina), Cody Kopilchack (Shawnee), Mike Bogan (Wapakoneta), Matt McKinney (Bath), Tyler Leatherman (O-G), Kyle Strawn (Shawnee), Zach Sterling (Bath) and Keith Hefner (Shawnee). First-team All-District selections included pitchers Kime (Defiance) and Kopilchack (Shawnee), catcher Bogan (Wapakoneta) and Tyler Gallant (Shawnee), first baseman Hampshire (Elida), infielder Bryn Lehman (Defiance), Matt Thompson (Elida) and Hefner (Shawnee), and outfielders Wagner (Defiance), Norton (St. Marys), Zach Brown (Wapakoneta) and David Gerad (Shawnee). Designated hitter Kyle Strawn was the first team utility player.
