 Capsule looks at upcoming tournament baseball games:
St. Marys (9-11) vs. Celina (6-16) When: Saturday at 3 p.m. at Elida Earlier Match-Up: St. Marys beat Celina 2-1 on April 18 behind the pitching of Sam Rammel. The senior right hander scattered five hits and struck out four Bulldog batters in seven innings of work. Matt Huber had a sacrifice fly and the other Rider run scored on a double play. Celina got to Rammel for one run in the sixth inning.
New Knoxville (6-10) vs. Spencerville When: Saturday at 1 p.m. at Minster Earlier Match-Up: Did not play this season. The Rangers are coming off their first Midwest Athletic Conference victory in five seasons with their win over St. Henry on Tuesday. The Rangers have made a big leap forward this season, with a 6-10 mark and a win at Dayton’s Fifth Third Field over Allen East earlier this spring. The winner of the New Knoxville-Spencerville game will play Minster on Wednesday, May 14 at Minster.
New Bremen vs. winner of Ft. Recovery-Waynesfield When: Wednesday, May 14 at 5 p.m. at Minster
Earlier Match-Up: New Bremen beat Fort Recovery on Tuesday., 5-3.Corey Jutte went seven innings, giving up three runs and striking out seven in a victory for the Cardinals. Anthony Moeder went 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs. Spencer Rohr had an RBI. Cory Barlage had a pair of RBIs. |
