NEW BREMEN — The St. Marys ACME baseball team picked up a 7-3 win over New Bremen on the heels of a big six-run inning.
“It was a nice win to bounce back from the last few games,” St. Marys coach Russ Taylor said. Trevor Kill started the game for St. Marys and got the win. Jake Taylor, Kill, John Nunnally, John Lauth, and David Nunnally all had RBI hits in the big inning to lead the Roughriders offensively. New Bremen acting coach Greg McCollum thought that his team played solid. “It was just that one inning that really hurt us,” he said. McCollum liked his team’s defense during the game, too. “We really put the ball in play,” Taylor said. St. Marys travels to Celina on Tuesday for a game with its rival. New Bremen hosts St. Henry on Tuesday at New Bremen High School. Both games are 6:30 p.m. starts. New Bremen got a runner to second in the bottom of the seventh inning, but stranded him after a ground ball to second base ended the game. |
