ST. MARYS —  Hmm. What to give for Christmas?
It’s it’s  electronics that puts a gleam in your loved one’s eyes, you might consider either a standard or portable DVD player.  Katie Irish, a sales associate at Radio Shack in St. Marys Square says GPS (Global Positioning Systems) are a hot Christmas gift. “Without a doubt,” she said.  “For mothers and grandmothers, the digital photo frames (are popular).”
Irish also noted people are looking for in home theater goodies too.
“iPods are really popular with a lot of college students,” Irish said.
Nintendo Wiis are very hot and very hard to get. Kasey Wysong, manager at Wal-Mart in Celina says the store gets a shipment of Wiis once a week and it could be any day of the week.
People stand in line to get the gaming system.
“We usually have a line starting at 7 in the morning,” Wisong said. “It’s first come, first served.”
Since the gaming systems could arrive any day of the week, Wisong said the store has a line of people every day Monday through Friday hoping that day is their lucky day.  The stores gets anywhere from five to 20 systems in each shipment.
Books, especially children’s books are big sellers at Christmas. Cherie Lynn owner of Canalside Book Store on Spring Street says the Jennie B. Jones, for children 6 through 9 are going fast. The author, Lyn said, “writes in a kid’s language and both boys and girls like them.”
Lyn also said that dragonology, Egyptology and mythology books are hot right now as well.
