By KAY LOUTH NEW KNOXVILLE — The New Knoxville Board of Education met in a work session Wednesday night to interview commissioning agents to oversee the electrical and heating/air conditioning systems in the renovation project..
Three prospective agents were invited to the interview: Osborne Engineering Co. of Cleveland, Stan Engineering of Dayton and Brewer-Garrett of Middlebury Heights. Brewer-Garrett did not show up, so only two interviews were conducted. According to Board President Stan Reineke, no decision was made as to which firm would be awarded the job. Reineke anticipates the board will make that decision during their next board meeting Monday. A commissioning agent is required by the Ohio School Facilities Commission. While hiring a commissioning agent is part of the process, Reineke says that it's also about making sure nothing gets missed and that the school gets a system that works from day one. Contact Kay at:
