Rita A. Post, 87, formerly of 02731 Noble Road in Noble Township, Auglaize County, died at 8:58 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009, at the St. Marys Living Center. She was born March 29, 1922, in Maria Stein, a daughter to Bernard and Catherine (Gehl) Heitkamp.
On Jan. 10, 1945, at St. Henry Catholic Church, she married William J. Post Jr., who died May 14, 1988.
She is survived by four sons, Daniel (Marilyn) Post  of Spencerville, Allen Post  of St. Marys, Robert (Sherry) Post  of St. Marys, Kenneth (Connie) Post  of St. Marys; nine grand children, Lisa (Gregg) Kiel, Kevin (Kim) Warnecke, Brian (Amy) Post, Dawn (Mark) Beamer, Jim (Kristy) Post, Amy (Brian) Steger, Matt Post, Katie Post, Jennifer Post; eight  great-grandchildren; a sister Rosie Schoen  of Coldwater; sisters-in-law: Helen Heitkamp  of Fort Recovery, Katie (Post) Stevely  of Wapakoneta.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a grandson Todd Post; an infant granddaughter; seven brothers: Joseph, Raymond “Ray, Bernard “Benny,” Clarence, Alphonse “Al,” Vincent and Melvin Heitkamp; four sisters: Mary “Mamie” Everman, Elizabeth “Lizzie” Bruggeman, Bernadette “Bernie” Heitkamp, Cecelia “Sis” Kuntz.
She was a homemaker and had worked at the Huffy Bicycle Corp. in Celina and the Buckeye Overall Co. in Coldwater.
She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and its Altar-Rosary Society and the Auglaize County Farm Bureau.
She enjoyed cooking for her family and was especially known for her homemade noodles. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles and playing cards.
A Mass of Christian Burial is to be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church 511 E. Spring St. in St. Marys, with the Rev. Anthony E. Cutcher, officiating. Burial will follow at the Gethsemane Cemetery in St. Marys.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road in St. Marys.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the church.
