Steven Duncan Vornholt, 67, resident of  R. R. 1, Harris, Mo., and  formerly of St. Marys, died on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, at North Kansas City Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. He was born April 26, 1942, in Celina, a son to the late Myron and Marguerite Vornholt.
On April 29, 1961, he married Karen Esther Vogel.
In 1981, Steve and Karen and family moved their entire farming operation to the Missouri area.
He is survived by his wife and their three children, Debra (Don) Klein of New Bremen, Darlene (Chris) Bowers of Ada, Greg (Deana) Vornholt of Chillicothe; five grandchildren, Mike and Beth Klein, Emily Klein, Bailey and Benjamin Bowers, Cody Alexander; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Connie and Gary Hegemier; nieces and nephews and their families, Matt and Hallie Hegemeir and family, Tim and Susie Hegemier and family, Abby and Sean Lunn and family.
Steve was an expert tool and die maker, machinist and craftsman, having attended Allied Institute of Technology in Chicago, after graduation from Memorial High School in 1960.
 He was employed by JB Tool, Ford Motor Co.  and  owner of St. Marys Tool and Machine Co.  In Missouri, he was employed by Modine Manufacturing Co, Coon Manufacturing Co., and also was a farmer.
He was owner/operator of Vornholt Enterprises in Harris, Mo. He throughly enjoyed continuing his craftmanship after retirement.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys, with the Rev. Bill Maki, officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
