Anne Elizabeth Burnham, 82, 220 Parkway Drive, St. Marys, and formerly of Dayton, died Monday, June 22, 2009, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima after a brief illness.
She was born July 9, 1926, in Greene County, a daughter of George and Catherine (Linsmeyer) Darner. On April 12, 1947, she married Rupert Burnham, he survives at the residence. She is also survived by her two daughters, Marcia (Dugan) Klosterman of Van Wert, Adele (Denny) Walls of St. Marys; nine grandchildren, Melissa Sinning, Brian Klosterman, Julie Mearkle, Mark Klosterman, Megan Klosterman, Chad Klosterman, Ben Klosterman, Jennifer Coffey, Derrick Walls; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Marie Boyd of Dayton. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Bruce Burnham; three sisters, Louise Griffis, Rose Platania, Mary Nadalsky; a brother, Tom Darner. She was a 1944 graduate of Fairborn High School. She had worked as a secretary at the B and O Railroad in earlier years and was a homemaker. She was an active member of the Auglaize Mercer YMCA, she enjoyed playing bridge and euchre, she played softball into her late 70s. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys with the Rev. David Schmidt, officiating. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys. Condolences may be sent to the family via Millerfuneralhomes.net. |
