Dennis L. Sheaks, 62, 2309 Celina Road, St. Marys, and a resident of St. Marys Living Center, died at 2:20 a.m., Sunday, March 29, 2009, at the St. Marys Living Center.
He was born May 10, 1946, in Celina, a son of Robert and Mary (Shinabery) Sheaks. His father preceded him in death, and his mother Mary Shinabery Naylor also preceded him in death.
He is survived by his stepmother, Alice Sheaks of St. Marys.
He is also survived by his sister, Patricia (James) Sealscott of New Bremen; a sister-in-law, Peg Sheaks of St. Marys; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Mike Sheaks.
He was a 1964 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School and he attended Bowling Green State University. He enjoyed all kinds of outdoor activities, including hunting. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in St. Marys. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral rites will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 W. High St., St. Marys, with the Rev. Joy Miller, officiant. Private family burial rites will be held.
Friends may call one hour before services on Saturday at the funeral home.
