Ida Mae Deitsch, 78,  411 Oliver St., St. Marys, died Thursday, March 12, 2009, at the Golden Living Center-Valley in St. Marys. She was born Feb. 16, 1931, in St. Marys, a daughter to Edgar and Lillian (Linton) Henning.
On May 12, 1950, she married Robert M. Deitsch and he preceded her in death on July 2, 1982.
She is survived by her children, Kris (Owen) Hubbell of St. Marys, Robert (Lori) Deitsch of Montezuma, Cheryl (Gary) Dybdal of Huber Heights, Bill (Kris) Deitsch of St. Marys, Jeff (Sandy) Deitsch of Wapakoneta, Lynn (David) Freewalt of St. Marys; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Edgar Henning of New Bremen; a sister, Iona Berning of St. Marys; a brother, Paul Henning of St. Marys; a sister, Ruth (Robert) Griesdorn of St. Marys.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Robert Henning; a half-sister, Helen Chioromonte; half-brothers, Lester Ward, John Ward and an infant brother.
She was a 1949 graduate of Memorial High School in St. Marys.
She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in St. Marys.
She was very involved in and supportive of the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed working in her flower garden, watching NASCAR racing and was a fan of the OSU Buckeyes football team.
Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, at the Miller Funeral Home (Ohio 703 West Chapel) in St. Marys with the Rev. Ed Bray, officiating. Burial will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
