Mary Lou Baker, 79, 211 N. Walnut St., St. Marys, died at 10 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, 2009, at the Valley Nursing Home, St. Marys.
She was born on Nov. 2, 1929, in Willshire, a daughter of John and Bess (Hole) Miller. On May 26, 1962, she married Vernon Baker, and he preceded her in death. She is survived by three daughters, Serena (Joe) Caiola of Palmdale, Calif., Theresa (Dave) Bubp of St. Marys, Rhonda (Abdul) Gaffar of Saugus, Calif.; five grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Dague of Pleasant Mills, Ind., Betty Michaels of Columbus Grove. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Dorothy Whitmore, Patricia Hoskins and Inola Miller. She graduated from Willshire High School in 1948. She retired from the Buckeye Apparel Company in Coldwater, where she had worked as a sewing machine operator for 42 years. She had attended the First Church of the Nazarene in St. Marys, she enjoyed working puzzles, playing bingo and spending time with her grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys, with the Rev. Tim Smith officiating. Private family burial rites will be held at a later date at the Willshire Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where memorial donations may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
