Robert E. “Bob” Bateman, Jr. 44, of Wapakoneta, died at 2:02 a.m., Monday, Dec. 1, 2008, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.  He was born Sept. 20, 1964, in Colorado Springs, Colo., a son of Robert E. and Bonita (Kocerha) Bateman, Sr. His father survives in Thomasville, Ga., and his mother and step-father, Bonita and Earl Rice survive in Colorado Springs.  
On Feb. 11, 2006, he married Tami L. Weidler Seem, and she survives.
He is also survived by four stepdaughters, Crystal Seem, Amanda Seem, and Heather Seem, all of Wapakoneta, Jennifer (Mike) Irish of Toledo; two grandchildren, Kate and Jessica; three brothers, Daniel Bateman, David Bateman, and Anthony Rice, all of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sisters, Evon Bateman and Alisiana Rice, both of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four nieces and three nephews.
He was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Steven Bateman.
He worked with the IRS, Colorado Springs. He was a member of the Harvest
Baptist Church, Wapakoneta.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, at the Bayliff and Eley Funeral Home, Ohio 501, Wapakoneta, with the Rev. Gary Bragg officiating. Burial is to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta.  
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.  
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
