SIDNEY — A 3-year-old girl was killed on Tuesday following a collision with a car.
According to a news release from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to Riverside Drive at approximately 5:39 p.m. to a report of a car that collided with a child.
Deputies determined a 2005 Hyundai was traveling west on Riverside Drive (Ohio 47), when a child ran into its path. The driver attempted an evasive measure in order to avoid hitting the child but was unable to do so. The vehicle struck the child in the roadway.
The child was transported to Wilson Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Shelby County Sheriff John Lenhart said the collision remains under investigation.
