February 28, 2012

  • The St. Marys boys basketball team begins tournament play tonight in the second game at Lima Senior against the Wapakoneta Redskins.
  • At Coldwater, New Knoxville and Minster play the lone game in the Division IV sectional of Tuesday night at 7 p.m.

ST. MARYS (5-15) vs. WAPAKONETA (7-13)

Rivals St. Marys and Wapakoneta play for the second time this season tonight in a Division II sectional semifinal at Lima Senior at approximately 8 p.m.

The Roughriders hope to snap an eight-game losing streak that ended its regular season.

Wapakoneta finished up its regular season at 7-13 after falling to previously WBL winless Kenton, 54-46.

NEW KNOXVILLE (9-11) vs. MINSTER (9-11)

New Knoxville and Minster followed similar paths to Tuesday night’s Division IV sectional semifinal match-up.

Both teams hit hard by graduation going into the season after stellar 2010-2011 campaigns, they’ve both gone through ups and downs and finished the regular season with matching 9-11 records.

The two Auglaize County Midwest Athletic Conference squads play on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at Coldwater High School for a chance to play against top-seeded Fort Recovery on Friday night.
