TRACK: Minster sweeps M-U, Rangers and Rider compete over weekend

Redskin Relays

The St. Marys girls track team finished ninth and the boys team was 12th at Friday night’s Wapakoneta Redskin Relays at Harmon Field.

Girls Top Finishers

The St. Marys girls pole vault team of Kelly Heitkamp, Amanda Walter and Maddie Ginter finished fourth. The 3200 meter relay team of Lexi Grothause, Amanda Dues, Kristen Dammeyer and Sara Lininger finished fifth (10:45.06). The distance medley team of Dues, Grothause, Jaclyn Smith and Dammeyer took fifth (10:52.21). The girls shuttle hurdles team of Walter, Bailey Gottschalk, Lininger and Kami Menchhofer was fifth (1:21.1). The long jump team of Ashleigh Falk, Dammeyer and Christine Sullivan finished fifth.

Boys Top Finishers

The St. Marys boys shuttle hurdles team of Brennan Brown, Luke Lemmerman, David Slife and Luke Grieshop finished second with a 1:06.47 time, the Riders’ top finish at the relay event. The 3200 meter relay team of Nick Durkee, Alex Mielke, Det Mines and Brown finished fifth (8:52.76). The 400 weightman relay team of Matt Alexander, Eric Mielke, Jordan Michel and Dustin Fisher took fifth (51.1).

Minster sweeps at Milton-Union

The Minster boys and girls track teams swept the Milton-Union Bulldog Classic titles on Saturday, with Kayla Wuebker setting a new meet record in the girls pole vault. The Minster girls scored 149 points to distance themselves from second-place Russia (104 points). Fort Loramie was fourth. The Minster boys team scored 181.5 points, besting second-place West Liberty-Salem’s 108 points. Fort Loramie finished sixth.


Girls Top Finishers

Minster’s Kayla Wuebker shattered the old meet record in the girls pole vault by clearing 12 feet, one inch. The old record of 10 feet, six inches. The Minster 3200 meter relay team of Gabrielle Barga, Amanda Sherman, Hannah Butler and Natalie Fausey won with a 10:05.64 time. Hannah Barga won the 100 meter dash with a 13.27-second time. Sara Dahlinghaus was second (13.53). The 400 meter realy team of Barga, Chelsea Stewart, Kayla Wuebker and Dahlinghaus won with a 52.39-second time. Samantha Hoelscher won the 400 meter dash with a 1:02.42 time. The 1600 meter relay team of Gabrielle Barga, Olivia Enneking, Natalie Fausey and Samantha Hoelscher won with a 4:14.94 time. Madeleine Eiting won the shot put with a put of 34 feet, 3.25 inches.


Boys Top Finishers

The 3200 meter relay team of Andrew Albers, Eric Dahlinghaus, Dominic Slonkosky and Francis Slonkosky won with an 8:19.63 time. Troy Kauffman won the 100 meter dash with an 11.73-second time. Francis Slonkosky won the 1600 meter run with a 4:30.92 time and Dominic Slonkosky was second (4:39.08). Francis Slonkosky alsoo won the 800 meter run with a 2:01.74 time. Eric Dahlinghaus won the 3200 meter run with a 10:20.05 time. Dominic Slonkosky was second (10:28.84). The 1600 meter relay team of Kauffman, Dues, Borges and Schultz won with a time of 3:30.28). Jake Winner won the discus throw with a throw of 140 feet, seven inches. Ryan Will was third (130-4). Will won the shot put with a throw of 52 feet, 7.25 inches. Wes Hegemann was second (49-9.75). Paul Dues won the high jump, clearing five feet, 10 inches.

Ranger boys run at DSJ

DELPHOS – The New Knoxville boys track team competed at the Delphos St. John’s invitational on Saturday, finishing ninth. Isaac Kuntz had a big day for the Rangers. Kuntz took second in the boys 1600 meter run with a 4:46.66 time, second in the high jump (5-8) and was sixth in the 800 meter run (2:14.96).
