TRACK: Kinkley, Rider 4x800 girls relay team run at Lexington

LEXINGTON — The St. Marys girls track team competed in two events at the Division II regional track meet at Lexington on Thursday night.

St. Marys sophomore Erin Kinkley took 12th in the girls high jump competition. Kinkley cleared four feet, 10 inches.

Kinkley reached the regional tournament after capturing the district title at Fostoria last week.

The St. Marys girls 4-by-800 meter relay team of Sara Lininger, Kristen Dammeyer, Marissa Schrolucke and Lexi Grothause finished 16th in the finals with a 10:45.02 time.

The relay team took fourth at the district meet a week ago to advance.

St. Marys will have one competitor in action on Saturday.

St. Marys junior Kelly Heitkamp will compete in the girls pole vault on Saturday. Field events are scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m. at Lexington.
