Timothy J. Makley, 60, of 05911 Botkins Road, New Knoxville, died at 6:53 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2014, at his residence, following a short illness.
He was born on April 10, 1953, in Celina, the son of George and Ruth (Baker) Makley, both of whom preceded him in death.
He married Julie M. Wendel on April 29, 1983, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys, and she survives at the residence.
He is also survived by his two daughters, Hannah and Caitlin Makley, both of New Knoxville, two sisters, Rebecca Watercutter of Celina and Sarah (Jack) Schrolucke of New Knoxville, by one brother, Tom (Taffy Campbell) Makley of Spencerville; and by a brother-in-law, Marvin Watercutter.
He was preceded in death by his in-laws, Joe and Joann (Hainline) Wendel, by a sister-in-law, Louise Wendel Rye and by a niece, Julie Makley.
Tim was a 1971 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School. He was employed as an operator at the city of St. Marys Water Treatment Plant. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and woodworking.
Funeral rites will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys, the Rev. Martin Brown, officiant.
Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 W. High St., St. Marys.
Memorial gifts may be given to either Grand Lake Hospice or the Arthur James Cancer Hospital.
