Thursday Round-Up: Rider volleyball wins in three over Bath

VOLLEYBALL

ST. MARYS 3, BATH 0: The St. Marys volleyball team defeated Bath in three games, 25-16, 27-25, 25-18, on Thursday at Memorial High School. Reagan Aller led the Roughriders with eight kills. Erika Angstmann had 11 digs. Rachel Meier had 14 assists for St. Marys. St. Marys improved to 4-8 and 2-1 in the Western Buckeye League.

VERSAILLES 3, MINSTER 1: Versailles won the final two games to pick up a 26-24, 24-26. 25-19, 25-19 win over Minster on Thursday. Claire McGowan led Minster with 19 kills and two solo blocks. Sara Hosey had 13 kills. Regan Hahn had three aces. Alisha Monnin paced Minster with 30 digs.

MARION LOCAL 3, COLDWATER 1: Marion Local stayed perfect in MAC play with a 19-25, 25-19, 25-15, 25-21, win over Coldwater on Thursday. Marion Local improved to 5-1 overall and 3-0 in the MAC. Claire Heitkamp recorded 16 kills to lead Marion Local. Gina Kremer had 11 kills.

BOYS SOCCER

NEW KNOXVILLE 2, CELINA 0: Andrew Mackie and Goncalo Branco scored first half goals less than a minute apart and the New Knoxville Rangers shut out Celina, 2-0, on Thursday at New Knoxville Community Park.

BOYS GOLF

O-G, 164, St. Marys 164: A fifth-score tiebreaker decided the Western Buckeye League golf match between St. Marys and Ottawa-Glandorf after the two teams were tied 164-164 after the top four scores were tallied at Northmoor on  Thursday. St. Marys’ Carter Bowman and Colin Burke both shot 38s to tie for medalist with O-G’s Jake Harshberger. St. Marys’ Kyle Kiefer shot a 43 and Cobain Applegate shot a 45.

MINSTER 160, ST. HENRY 177: The Minster boys golf team earned a 160-177 win over St. Henry at the Mercer Count Elks course behind Josh Tumbusch’s medalist 36. Freddie Purdy shot a 38, John Burke had a 41 and  Xavier Francis shot a 42. Austin Brackman added a 44 and Matt Trushaw had a 45.

NEW BREMEN 165, FORT RECOVERY 185: New Bremen had a pair of golfers break 40 and the Cardinals boys golf team downed Fort Recovery, 165-185. Alex Britton shot a 37 and Darin Bergman shot a 38 to lead New Bremen.

PARKWAY 160, NEW KNOXVILLE 188: Parkway earned the MAC win over the Rangers on Thursday at Arrowhead. Tyler Shreve led New Knoxville with a 39.

GIRLS GOLF

CELINA 199, NEW BREMEN 211: The Celina girls golf team edged New Bremen, 199-211, on Thursday at Arrowhead. New Bremen’s Mackenzie Howell was medalist with a 46.  Kelly Stahl led Celina with a 47.

GIRLS TENNIS

O-G 4, ST. MARYS 1: Ottawa-Glandorf won four of the five positions in the Western Buckeye League match against a short-handed Roughrider squad. St. Marys earned its one win at first doubles with Ariel Dodson and Priscilla Dodson defeating O-G’s Haley Inninger and Nicole Siefker, 6-4, 6-4.
