Thursday Baseball Round-Up

ROCKFORD — The Parkway Panthers had their bats ready Thursday and with seven runs in the first three innings the Panthers defeated the New Knoxville Rangers 11-1 in five innings on a single by Austin Adams that scored Cain Pontsler in a MAC game played at Don Black Stadium in Rockford.

New Knoxville scored its lone run  in the top of the second inning. Adam Howe led off with a single and after a pop up, stole second and went to third when Wes Meyer reached on an error at shortstop and Howe came home when Cody Shaw reached on an error at third.

Cameron Loutenheiser pitched the complete game for Parkway giving up one run on four hits. He struck out four Ranger batters.

The Rangers (4-2, 0-1) entertain Houston on Saturday and New Bremen on Tuesday, while the Panther (4-3, 1-0) will entertain Coldwater on Friday.


COLDWATER 11, NEW BREMEN 0

COLDWATER — Coldwater scored four runs in the first and added six more in the third inning in Coldwater’s 11-0 win in fiver innings on Thursday. The game was originally scheduled to be played on Tuesday. Coldwater pitching held New Bremen to two hits, with Dylan Thobe earning the win on the mound. Brody Hoying and Mitch Heyne had extra-base hits for the Cavaliers. Coldwater improved to 8-1. New Bremen fell to 2-8.


ST. HENRY 4, MARION LOCAL 1

MARIA STEIN — St. Henry scored four runs in the tiop of the first and it held up in a 4-1 win over the Flyers. Alex Post got the win on the mound for St. Henry, and Jeff Paul and Post each doubled as part of a nine-hit Redskin attack. St. Henry improved to 7-2. Marion Local is 3-8.


WAPAKONETA 8, VERSAILLES 3

Wapak scored two in the third and three runs in each of the fourth and fifth innings to earn a non-league victory.
