Three Riders, Minster's Gusching to play in football all-star game

VAN WERT — St. Marys will have three seniors playing in the Western Buckeye League vs. MAC/NWC Football All-Star Game on Friday, June 8.

St. Marys senior wideout and defensive back Tre Sherman, running back D.J. Manning and center Austin Rupard.

Minster’s Daniel Gusching, a 6-foot-2, 215-pound wideout and linebacker will play for the MAC-NWC team. Gusching was named the Associated Press’ Division IV defensive player of the year as a senior.

Spencerville head coach John Zerbe, who will coach the NWC-MAC team.

Kenton’s Mike Mauk will coach the WBL team.

The WBL vs. MAC/NWC game will be played for the 12th year. The MAC/NWC team leads the all-time series, 7-4. The MAC/NWC won last year’s game.
