Terry L. Carmean, 64

Terry L. Carmean, 64, of 790 Coventry Green, St. Marys, died on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at his residence, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on Sept. 2, 1948, in Celina, the son of LG and Evelyn (Koenig) Carmean, and they preceded him in death.

In 1979, he married Deb Heil, and she survives at the residence.

He is also survived by a son, Nate Carmean of St. Marys; two daughters, Stephanie Gudorf Schiff of Columbus and Johanna (Tige) Sealscott of Louisville, Ky.; his sister, Diane (Dave) Blackburn of Wapakoneta; two granddaughters, Gabby and Emmy.

Terry was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Carmean; a sister, Christine Woods.

He was a 1966 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School, and he attended the Ohio State University. He was a retired production employee of the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in St. Marys. Terry greatly enjoyed the outdoors and he loved to golf.

He was an avid sports fan, being especially dedicated to college football. He was proud of all things associated with his hometown of St. Marys, including coaching youth league teams.

He was the self-proclaimed “King of SummerFest” in St. Marys. He will be missed by the family who he loved and by all his many friends.

Funeral rites will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys, with the Rev. Joy Miller officiating. Private family burial rites will be held.

Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to Grand Lake Hospice.
