TENNIS: Riders sweep Piqua, 5-0

PIQUA — The St. Marys boys tennis team won at all five positions to sweep Piqua on Monday night.

St. Marys improved to 8-5 on the season. The Roughriders travel to Defiance today at 4:30 p.m.

St. Marys’ Troy Newlove defeated Austin Hemm at first singles, 6-1, 6-4.

The Roughriders’ Cole Brooks won second singles over Piqua’s Brandon Bercot, 6-4, 6-0.

The St. Marys first doubles team of Ryan Wenel and Noah Hartsock won 6-3, 6-7 (7-3), 6-3.

St. Marys’ second doubles team of Dylan Zink and Morgan Fenwick won second doubles over Holly Black and Luke Hanes, 7-5, 6-3.
