HEBRON -- Runners seemed to like the new course for the OHSAA state cross country championships on Saturday, with area teams and individual running at the event in Hebron.
Celina's Hannah Fleck shined in the girls Division II race. Fleck ran fourth with an 18:31 time as a senior.
Fleck, who ran at state a year ago, said that helped in a race that was much more crowded and competitive on the new course at National Trail Raceway.
"Definitely, (experience) is always a big thing," Fleck said. "Your nerves are working and you can be more focused and you know what you have to do."
New Knoxville sophomore Cassie Boyle finished 23rd with a 19:30 time in the girls Division III race.
Minster's run of three straight girls titles came to a close, as the Wildcats took eighth as a team.
Hannah Butler was Minster's top runner in 51st with a 19:30 time.
In the boys Division III race, New Knoxville sophomore Isaac Kuntz took 54th with a 17:04 time.
Coldwater took second in the girls Division III team standings. The Cavs were edged out by Liberty Center for the state title.
