St. Marys track 3rd, 4th at Celina Relays

CELINA — The St. Marys girls track and field team took third and the Roughrider boys placed fourth at the Walt Shreffler Relays on Friday evening in Celina.

Celina swept the boys and girls titles. The Celina girls scored 110 points, outlasting second place Coldwater (94 points), St. Marys (66), Parkway (32), Rossford (22) and Waynesfield-Goshen (22).

The Bulldog boys won with 103 points ahead of second-place Coldwater (77 points), Waynesfield-Goshen (54), St. Marys (46), Parkway (42) and Rossford (20).

The St. Marys boys 400 meter shuttle hurdle team of Luke Lemmerman,  David Slife,  Luke Grieshop and Brennan Brown was the lone winning boys team for the Roughriders in the event with a 1:04.3 time.

On the girls side, St. Marys’ Kelly Heitkamp won the girls pole vault indivually by clearing nine feet.

The St. Marys boys 4-by-300 meter hurdle team took second with a 2:59.52 time.

Third-place finishes for St. Marys relay team included the  St. Marys girls 3200 meter relay team (11:20.65), the St. Marys girls 400 meter shuttle hurdle team (1:16.62 time),  the Riders’ boys 3200 meter relay team (9:09.98), and the girls 400 meter relay team (55.78).

The St. Marys track and field team of will host a quad meet on Tuesday with Fort Loramie, Marion Local and Versailles. The meet starts at 4:45 p.m.
