The St. Marys doubles team of Cole Brooks and Jason Freewalt finished fourth at the Division II sectional tournament at UNOH on Saturday after a pair of losses to Celina teams.

Brooks and Freewalt had already assured themselves of a district berth earlier in the week with three wins.

In the semifinals, the St. Marys duo lost to Celina’s Isaac Elston and Kris LeJeune, 2-6, 2-6.

Brooks and Freewalt lost the third-place match to Celina’s Aaron Seibel and Keaton Mohler, 1-6, 2-6.

The top four finishers in the singles and doubles will move on to play at the Bowling Green State University district tournament on Thursday, May 23 and Saturday, May 25.

Celina’s doubles team finished second after losing to Shawnee’s Jason Barton and Josh Thomas in the title match, 6-3, 6-2.

Lima Central Catholic’s Alex Swick won the sectional title over O-G’s Alex Schroeder, 6-0, 6-1.

Shawnee’s Avinash Rajsasekaran beat Celina’s Alex Seibel in the third-place singles match, 7-6, 7-5.
