Celina’s five-run second inning broke things open in the Bulldogs’ 12-2 five-inning win over St. Marys.

Celina scored a run in the first and then five runs in the second.

The rout was on after Celina scored four more in the third. Leah Rose’s three-run home run that got just over the glove of the left fielder with two outs and two on pushed Celina’s lead to 10-0.

Back-to-back RBI doubles in the top of the fourth made it 12-0.

After the Riders went down in order in the second and third innings, they cracked the scoreboard in the fourth. Katlyn Brown singled with one out and advanced to second on a groundout.

Lexi Roop followed with an RBI single to bring home Brown.

St. Marys scored again in the bottom of the fifth. Colleen Magee grounded a one-out single through the box. She moved to second on a fielder’s choice. Two batters later Kiley Schamp singled in a run to make it 12-2.

St. Marys fell to 4-9, 2-4 in the WBL and goes to Crestview today at 11 a.m. for a twin bill.
