SOFTBALL: Riders, Bremen swept, Minster splits doubleheader

Dublin Jerome takes two over Riders

Dublin Jerome swept a Saturday doubleheader against the St. Marys softball team with 7-3 and 15-5 wins at K.C. Geiger Park.

In the 15-5 loss, St. Marys’ Harle Smith hit a two-run home run for the Roughriders.

Lexi Roop pitched and took the loss in both games for St. Marys. St. Marys fell to 1-4 on the season. The Riders host Fort Recovery tonight at 5 p.m.

Minster splits twin bill

MINSTER — The Minster softball team split a doubleheader by beating Delphos Jefferson 17-0 and falling to Russia, 8-1. Minster pounded out 17 hits in the win.

Hanna Floyd went 4-for-4 with a double and a home run. Sara Hosey and Regan Hahn both collected two hits. Kayla Richard struck out five in the circle to earn the win.
 

Cardinals fall in doubleheader

The New Bremen softball team dropped a pair of games in a doubleheader on Saturday.

The Cardinals fell to Spencerville, 14-8.

Melissa Thieman went 3-for-4, Gina Griesdorn was 2-for-4 and Haley Moeller was 2-for-4 for New Bremen at the plate.

New Bremen lost to Marion Pleasant, 8-7, when Pleasant got a two-out, two-run single to grab the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Moeller went 2-for-4 with two runs batted in.

Griesdorn was 2-for-3  and Brandt went 2-for-4.
