SOFTBALL: Minster, New Bremen sweep doubleheaders

Minster's Hanna Floyd went a combined 7-for-9 at the plate in the Wildcats' doubleheader sweep over Bradford on Saturday.

New Bremen wins two over Anna, 7-6 and 12-2

NEW BREMEN — New Bremen scored eight runs in the third inning of a 12-2 win and  Sydney Goens hit a game-winning single in the bottom of the seventh in a 7-6 win in the opening game.

New Bremen improved to 4-6 with the wins.

In the first game, Goens went 3-for-4, including the game-winning hit. Haley Moeller went 2-for-3. Gina Griesdorn was 1-for-3 and scored the game-winning run.

New Bremen pounded out 10 hits in the run-rule second game win. Griesdorn was 2-for-3, Thieman was 3-for-4 and Parker was 2-for-2.

Minster sweeps Bradford 8-2, 10-0

BRADFORD — The Minster softball team defeated Bradford 8-2 and 10-0 to sweep a doubleheader on Saturday.

In the opener, Minster pounded out 11 hits, with Hanna Floyd’s 3-for-5 with two double and Jayden Hahn’s 3-for-4 with three RBI games leading the way.

In the second game, Minster broke a scoreless tie with six runs in the fourth and six runs in the fifth.

Floyd went 4-for-4 with a double. Kathy Prenger was 2-for-3, Kayla Richard was 2-for-2 and Alexis Robinson collected three runs batted in.

Kayla Richard earned both wins pitching, striking out six in the second game.
