Single-Vehicle Crash in Shelby County Wednesday Morning
At 7:13 a.m. Wednesday, the Shelby County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to the 8000 block of Hardin-Wapakoneta Road on a report of a single vehicle, roll over crash.
According to a news release from the Sheriff John R. Lenhart with the Shelby County Sheriff's Office, units found a 2005 Buick Century with two occupants trapped inside. The "Jaws of Life" were used to extricate the occupants — a male adult driver, Cody Watts, 22, of Minster, and a 13-year-old male juvenile passenger from Sidney. The adult was transferred via Careflight to Miami Valley Hospital, and Fort Loramie Rescue transported the juvenile to Wilson Health.
In the release, Lenhart noted investigation allegedly shows the vehicle was southbound on Hardin-Wapakoneta Road when the drover lost control as he crossed over Mason Road. The vehicle went off the right side of the road and traveled approximately 350 feet before it rolled, coming to rest on its wheels.
Fort Loramie Fire, Fort Loramie Rescue and Shelby County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene.
