Shawnee continues to have Roughriders' number on gridiron

ST. MARYS — D.J. Manning became the first St. Marys running back to ever rush for 2,000 yards in a season, but it was Lima Shawnee that emerged from Friday night's game with a .500 record after a 42-21 win over the Roughriders at Skip Baughman Stadium on Friday night.
Shawnee's Sam Altenbach rushed for 226 yards and found the end zone four times, as the speedy but tough tailback went over 1,000 yards for the season.

Shawnee has won five straight games over St. Marys.

Shawnee ran the ball 42 times for 270 yards and five ground TDs.

Manning and his all-senior offensive line put on one last show for the home crowd, as well. Manning carried the ball 47 times for 250 yards and three touchdowns. The big night pushed Manning over 2,000 yards rushing for the season just a week after he eclipsed the single-season rushing record at St. Marys.

Manning rushed for more than 200 yards for the sixth time this season.
