Seventeen St. Marys students named academic All-WBL

The Western Buckeye League named its 2011-2012 WBL Academic All-League award winners late last week for student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom.

St. Marys had 17 students earn the honor.

Juniors must carry a 3.75 grade point average and earned at least two varsity letters.

St. Marys juniors Emily Brown, Kevin Dammeyer, Nick Durkee, Mitch Fowler, Kelly Heitkamp, Colleen Magee, Neil Perry and Logan Simons were named to the list.

Seniors must carry a 3.75 GPA with at least three varsity letters in WBL sports.

St. Marys seniors Marie Bertke, Jenny Brown, Molly Hertenstein, Jessica Jeffries, Daniel Miller, Austin Riggs, Anthony Tenney, Ryan Wilker and Sarah Wilker were named to the list.

Ottawa-Glandorf led the WBL with 37 named WBL academic all-league.
