Second Dayton Man Arrested On Drug Charges

WAPAKONETA — A second Dayton man in less than a week was arrested in Auglaize County on drug charges.

In a news release issued by Auglaize County Sheriff Al Solomon, Vernon J. Graham, 37, of Dayton, was arrested by members of the Grand Lake Drug Task Force for allegedly delivering crack cocaine and heroin to the area.

On Wednesday, drug task force members along with Auglaize County Sheriff’s Deputies and officers from Minster Police, Wapakoneta Police, Cridersville Police, St. Marys Police, Ohio State Highway Patrol, arrested Graham after he allegedly delivered the drugs to undercover officers.

The drugs preliminary weight is approximately 1 gram of heroin and approximately 1 ounce of crack cocaine.  Street value for both is about $1,500.  Additional crack cocaine was found on Graham and drug paraphernalia was found in the vehicle.

Graham was taken into custody without incident in the Wapakoneta area.  The vehicle Graham was in, a late 90s Chevrolet Suburban was impounded. The driver of the vehicle also was taken into custody but later released.

This is the second person in a week that was arrested for delivering drugs to the Auglaize County area from Dayton.

"We continue to get information that a lot of the heroin and crack is coming from the Dayton area," Solomon said. "We are trying to get to the suppliers as well as the users of the drugs.  The suppliers have to be targeted as much if not more than the users.”
