Ruth J. Harter, 72, of Spencerville, died at 8:15 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.

She was born on Jan. 26, 1940, in Amanda Township, to Lyman L. and Sadie E. Fraley Mulholland Sr., and they preceded her in death.

On Aug. 31, 1956, she married Richard B. “Dick” Harter, and he survives.

She is also survived by two sons, Rick Harter of Spencerville and Robert (Ann) Harter of Frederick, Md.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers; three sisters; two sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law; her mother-in-law.

Ruth was preceded in death by a great-grandchild; five brothers; two sisters; a brother-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, with the Rev. John G. Medaugh officiating.

Burial will follow in Spencerville Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
