On May 11, 1946, she married Norman Rohrbach, whom she continued to love throughout her life, and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by two sons, James (Roberta) Rohrbach of Sidney and Timothy Rohrbach of New Knoxville; two daughters, Theresa (Terry) Kemmann of St. Marys and Rebecca (Cletus) Koverman of New Bremen; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-stepgrandchildren; three great-great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Norman Thomas Rohrbach; a grandson, Craig Andrew Kemman; a great-grandson, Fred Adam Rohrbach; a brother, Gene Holtzhauer.
Living her faith, Ruth worked 30 years as organist at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys. She also in earlier years worked at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., Happy Humpty Restaurant and Miller’s Textiles. Most of all, she worked at trying to be the best wife and mother she could be.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, taking them to Hocking County to see Old Man’s Cave and walking to visit the residents in the nursing home.
She appreciated the time and love that the town businesses would give her and go out of their way to serve her or just say “hi” as she took her many walks. All the birthday cards from them on one particular birthday were always talked about.
Working with the children at East School brought her such joy.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 511 E. Spring St., St. Marys, with the Rev. Anthony Cutcher officiating. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery in St. Marys.
