Ruberta C. Hemmert, 88

Ruberta C. Hemmert, 88, of rural Botkins, died at 4:43 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at the St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.

She was born on Jan. 2, 1924, in Rhine, to Peter and Alvina (Greve) Steinke, and they preceded her in death.  

On June 10, 1943, she married Elmo Edward Hemmert, and he survives.

She is also survived by seven children, Shirley Ellinger of Lima, Paulette (Jim) Fisher of Bowling Green, Edie (Dave) Huelskamp of Wapakoneta, Ann (Larry) Vehorn of Anna, Dan (Carol) Hemmert of Sidney, Donna (Chuck Houts) Doseck of St. Marys and Sherry (Mark) Cisco of Botkins; 26 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; three sisters; a brother; four half brothers; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a stepfather, Franklin Schaub; a son-in-law; a brother and sister-in-law; a half brother; two brothers-in-law; a sister-in-law.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Immaculate Conception Church in Botkins, with the Rev. Patrick Sloneker officiating.

Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Botkins.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, State Route 501, Wapakoneta.
