Roughriders Boys Make It Back To Back

The St. Marys Roughriders boys bowling team will make it back-to-back state appearances after taking third place in Friday’s Division II boys bowling district tournament, qualifying them for the state competition next week.

The defending champions finished behind district champion Eastwood (4,072) and St. Henry (4,017) with 3,971 pins. The top three teams and the top three individuals not on qualifying teams advance to the Division II state competition on March 2 at Wayne Webb’s Columbus Bowl.

The Roughriders were led by Kelsey Shannon with a 651 series (237, 190, 224), followed by Gunner Kruse with a 617 series (190, 217, 210).

Nathan Kuffner finished with a 537 series (199, 173, 165) and Jr Hurley rolled a 522 series (165, 170, 187)

Individuals who advanced to state are: Napoleon’s Evan Horner (676), Coldwater’s Caden Seitz (652) and Evan Diller (613).

The St. Marys boys team joins the Roughriders girls squad as both teams advance to state competition.
The girls will compete at the Division II state tournament on March 3.
