Ronald L. Selby, 73

Ronald L. Selby, 73, of 18132 Townline-Kossuth Road in St. Marys, died 6:19 p.m. Saturday June 25, 2011, in Wapakoneta following a brief illness.

He was born Jan. 14, 1938 in  Mercer County to J. Wilson and A. Lucille (Pummell) Selby.

On Nov. 30, 1955, in St. Marys, he married Marilyn R. Slemmons, who died June 18, 2006.

Survivors include son Jeff (Jan) Selby of St. Marys; son Rod (Nancy Buschur) Selby  of New Knoxville;  daughter Rhonda (Ken) Boyd  of New Bremen; daughter Jennifer (Jim) Singleton  of Wapakoneta; five grandchildren, Christopher Boyd, Erin (L.J.) Jellison and Jacob Boyd  all of Las Vegas, Nev.,  Rachel Baucher  of Columbus and Tyler Baucher  of Wapakoneta; three  great-grandchildren; brother Roger (Donna) Selby  of St. Marys.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a brother Robert Selby.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

He retired from the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in St. Marys, where he was a plumber/pipefitter.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in St. Marys. His favorite pastimes included riding his motorcycle, trapshooting and attending swap meets and gun and knife shows.

Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral  Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West Chapel) in St. Marys, with the Rev. Gary Bragg, officiating. Burial, with graveside military rites, will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, near Moulton.

Visitation is scheduled for 2 p.m. to  4 p.m.  and 6 p.m. to  8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home on Ohio 703 West.
