Ronald D. Spitler, 78

Ronald D. Spitler, 78, of 10983 Schroeder Road, St. Marys, died at 12:55 p.m. Sunday, Dec.16, 2012, at Lima Memorial Hospital in Lima.

 He was born on Dec. 13, 1934, in Potsdam, the son of Roscoe and Irene (Marker) Spitler.

 He married Carmelita De Salva on Nov. 23, 1969, and she survives at the residence.

 He is also survived by his two daughters, Melody (Robert) Daugherty of Arcanum, Melanie Strong of New Madison; by his son, Jason (Meghan) Spitler of Dayton; by eight grandchildren; by two great-grandchildren; by three brothers; one sister.

He was preceded in death by his parents; by three children, Doronda Spitler, Donnie Tennery and Carlos Spitler.

He served in the Marine Corps from 1954-58.

Funeral rites will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Potsdam Church of the Brethren, Pastor Bob Kurtz, officiant.

Burial will follow at the Mote Cemetery near Pitsburg.

Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys, where memorial gifts may be given to the Coronary Care Unit of Lima Memorial Hospital. Condolences may be sent to Ron’s family via MillerFuneralHomes.net.
