Roger Raymond Heitkamp, 65

Roger Raymond Heitkamp, 65, of Monterey Drive, Fort Loramie, died on Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney.

He was born on June 29, 1946, in Celina, to Clarence L. and Lorena E. (Riethman) Heitkamp, and they preceded him in death.

On Oct. 4, 1969, at St. Michael Church in Fort Loramie, he married Margaret “Peg” L. Barlage, and she survives him.

He is also survived by five children, Lisa (Phil) Meyer of McCartyville, Denise (Brian) Elliott of Anna, Doug (Kristin) Heitkamp of Fort Loramie, Mike (Vera) Heitkamp of Anna and Lori (AJ) Chalk of New Knoxville; 15 grandchildren; three sisters; four brothers and sisters-in-law.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany for 18 months during the Vietnam Era.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael Church in Fort Loramie, with the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fort Loramie Fire Department or to the Fort Loramie Rescue Squad.
