Robert F. Butterman, 88

Robert F. Butterman, 88, of New Bremen, formerly of Lakeview and Marion, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Elwood Nursing Center in New Bremen.

He was born March 1, 1925, in Marion to the late Ora E. and Clara I. (Fleming) Butterman.

In 1962, he married Violet M. (Bland) Butterman she preceded him in death in 1987, he then married Elizabeth A. (McClaskey) in 1990, she preceded him in death in 2001.

Robert was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during World War II, was a member of the American Legion and Amvets. He was employed for forty years at the Marion Power Shovel as a machinist.

Robert is survived by three stepdaughters, Katherine Borders, of Delaware; Nora (Jay) Kitzmiller of New Bremen; Jeri (George) Brown, of Muncie, Pa.; four stepsons, William (Donna) Bland, of Wharton;  Raymond (Julia) Bland, of McCutchinville; Andy (Brenda) Blevins, of Marion; Mike (Ruth) Blevins, of Mineral Bluff, Ga.; 11 stepgrandchildren, numerous step great grandchildren and one sister, Ruth Dutton of Alliance.

He was preceded in death by a step son, Fred Bland, step daughter, Wanda McGlone, three brothers, Stanley Butterman, Richard Butterman, Merill Butterman and two sisters, June Wilson and Ellen Smith.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Bethel Cemetery in McCutchinville. The Boyd-Born Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for the family.
