Robert “Bob” Williams, 77

Robert “Bob” Williams, 77, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Western Reserve Masonic Community.

He was born in Akron, and graduated from Buchtel High School. Bob served in the U.S. Army and retired from Ohio Bell Telephone Company. He was a member of Coventry-Akron Lodge #83 F&AM and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur “Cece” Williams and Ethel Williams Lewis.

Bob is survived by his wife, Mary, to whom he was married for almost 55 years; she survives at the Western Reserve Masonic Community;  by his sons, the Rev. Dr. David Williams of New Knoxville, Richard (Amy Indorf) Williams of Akron and James (Pam) Williams of Wadsworth.

He is survived by his  grandsons, Ryan Williams of Orlando, Fla.; Colin and Joel Williams of Wadsworth; stepsister, Barbara Lewis Sullivan and brother-in-law, Wilford “Bill” Lutz.

Funeral rites will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Akron, the Rev. Dr. David Williams and the Rev. Eileen Woyen, officiants.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at church.

Memorial gifts may be given in Bob's memory to the concert fund of the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville.

Local arrangements are under the direction of the Vornholt-Miller Funeral Home, 200 West Spring St., New Knoxville.
