NEW BREMEN — An 18-year-old Mercer County man was arrested Thursday afternoon in connection with a robbery that took place near New Bremen this week.
On Thursday afternoon, investigators obtained information about an individual who may be involved in a robbery at a residence west of New Bremen along Amsterdam Road Wednesday afternoon. Detectives followed up with information provided by residents of Auglaize and Mercer counties. Additional information revealed the individual was in the Hamilton area with the stolen vehicle.
Detectives and officers from Hamilton Police Department were able to locate the stolen vehicle and able to apprehend the suspect as a result of a warrant obtained by detectives from the Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office and issued out of the Auglaize County Municipal Court.
Austin B. Ball, 18, of Maria Stein, was arrested and is currently being held in the Butler County Jail awaiting transport back to Auglaize County.
“This arrest is a result of great work on the part of the detectives and deputies from the Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office,” Solomon said in a news release. “Also the Hamilton Ohio Police Department did an outstanding job of working with our detectives. This is a great example of a collaborative effort with the citizens and law enforcement working together.”
Ball will be transported back to Auglaize County to face charges of robbery, a first-degree felony, and theft of a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony.
