With a seven-point lead, the St. Marys Roughriders outscored a defensive dominated New Knoxville team, outscoring the Rangers 35-22 in the second half, and leading to a 60-40 non-league win on Thursday.

For prospective, the Rangers defense allowed an average of 38 points in the first two games, but the Riders tallied 35 in the second half alone, and nearly doubled that total for the entire game.

Quincy Rable recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Sydney Cisco tallied 14 points on four 3-pointers.

Kenzie Schroer (16 points) and Jenna Schwieterman (15 points) combined for 31 of the Rangers’ 40 points as the Roughriders defense forced 21 shots in the field and did not allow any other New Knoxville players beat them on the night.

The Roughriders improve to 3-0 overall to start a season for the first time since the 2007-08 season and move to 448-448 all-time in program history.
