Richard S. Loffer, 82

Richard S. Loffer, 82, of 801 W. North St., St. Marys, died at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital.

He was born on Jan. 7, 1930, in Ada, the son of Lowell and Mary (Hubbell) Loffer.

He married  Barbara Van Cleve on May 19, 1951, and she preceded him in death on April 1, 2010.

He is survived by his three children, Craig (Susan) Loffer of St. Marys, Scott (Pam) Loffer of Princeton, W.Va. and Jodi (Kumar) Sivagnanam of St. Marys; by nine grandchildren, Craig (Lora) Loffer, Jr. of Greenfield, Ind., Heather Loffer of Alger, Aimee Loffer of Rockhill, S.C., Jeremy Loffer of Princeton, W.Va., Christine (Jeremy) Dammeyer of St. Marys, Chad (Corrine) Porter of Grove City, Priya Sivagnanam of St. Marys, Ambika Sivignanam of St. Marys, Sarika Sivagnanam of St. Marys; by three great-grandchildren, Drew Dammeyer, Austin Loffer and Jahmar Loffer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two brothers, Rev. Robert Loffer and Max Loffer; by a son-in-law, Harold Porter.

Richard was a  graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean War. He attended Living Hope Assembly of God Church in St. Marys, and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Funeral rites will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 W. High St., St. Marys. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral services on Thursday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to Agape Ministries of St. Marys.
