Residents to Vote for CIC’s ’12 Holiday Card

NEW BREMEN — Residents of a local community will have the opportunity to pick a village organization’s holiday card for next year.

During the New Bremen-New Knoxville Rotary Club’s Christmas tree lighting on Thursday, residents will be able to vote on the New Bremen Community Improvement Corp.’s 2012 Christmas card as part of the CIC’s Christmas Card Photo Contest.

“The pictures were taken in 2010, the beginning of 2011,” Economic Development Director Angela Hamberg said. “All entries had to be submitted by March 31, 2011.”

She noted the chosen image will be used for the CIC’s 2012 card.

“Winter scenes are preferable, but it’s not mandatory,” Hamberg added.

There are four images that will be displayed during the village’s tree lighting, which begins at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, on the main floor of the Lockkeeper’s House.

“They should be available by tomorrow (Wednesday) at the Lockkeeper’s House,” Hamberg said. “Voting will run during the Christmas holiday season.”

While the images are on display, residents can vote for their favorite.

“I have little paper forms where they can check mark which one is their preferred scene,” Hamberg said.

In addition to the chosen image being put on the CIC’s card, which will go out to local New Bremen businesses, Auglaize County Commissioners and elected state officials, the winner will also receive a gift certificate.

“The winning photographer will win a $50 Chamber Bucks gift certificate from the CIC,” Hamberg said.
