ST. MARYS — Residents will be able to participate in a seasonal activity, while an ice rink has a temporary home at a local park this month.
The ice skating rink that made its debut at Winterfest in 2010 will be a part of the Festival of Lights in K.C. Geiger Park this month.
"He is still hoping to put it up at K.C. Geiger," St. Marys Optimist Winterfest Chair Virg Bertke said. "It will be back at Memorial Park for Winterfest on the 18th."
The rink will not be moved back to K.C. Geiger Park for the duration of the Festival of Lights, which runs through Dec. 23, Bertke noted.
"We will have skates available at Winterfest," Bertke said. "While it's in the park, there won't be skates out there, so you'll have to bring your own."
The Festival of Lights runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
"The rink will be open all day, every day," Bertke added.
Winterfest, which was supposed to go on Sunday, was rescheduled for Sunday, Dec. 18 because of inclement weather.
Winterfest will kick off that day with ice skating at 2 p.m. in Memorial Park.
