Rescheduled Winterfest Set For Sunday

ST. MARYS — Santa will host a parade at 4 p.m. Sunday as part of Winterfest. The parade, as usual, will travel along Spring Street from Front Street to Chestnut Street.  The parade will end with watching the Live Nativity, then taking his seat in his house at Memorial Park where he will have special hours during the Christmas season. Each child will receive a bag of goodies to take home when they visit Santa at the Santa House during the holiday season. Santa and the gift bags are courtesy of the St. Marys Area Chamber of Commerce and the St. Marys Kiwanis Club and the St. Marys Rotary Club.
    
There also will be a variety of entertainment on Sunday. the Living Nativity presentation, the lighting of the community Christmas tree and the Christmas tree give-a-way. Entertainment includes church groups, the Glitter and Gold Show Choir, Christmas carols and much more. The Optimists will provide popcorn and hot chocolate during the evening.
    
A living nativity will be performed by Living Hope Assembly of God Church in conjunction with the St. Marys Ministerial Association. A dramatization of the Christmas story will be presented at Memorial Park through various cast members, live animals and special music. Presentations will be held at 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Winterfest, the Santa Parade, and the Living Nativity are sponsored by the St. Marys Optimist Club, the St. Marys Area Chamber of Commerce, the St. Marys Kiwanis Club, the St. Marys Rotary Club and Living Hope Assembly of God Church in conjunction with the St. Marys Ministerial Association.

Also on Sunday, residents may drive to KC Geiger Park in St. Marys for the Festival of Lights display. Admission is free, but they are taking donations of non-perishable food items to be donated to Agape.  The Festival of Lights will be open from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. throughout December on the weekends. The Festival of Lights, spearheaded by Jeremy and Brenda Holtzapple, is being sponsored by the St. Marys Community Partnership and many other non-profits and businesses in St. Marys.
